Exciting Accreditation News!
As you will read elsewhere in this issue, Ming Hua’s application with Charles Sturt University to the Hong Kong Government’s Education Bureau, for the privilege of offering registered Bachelors and Masters awards at the College, has been successful!
For the first time in its 70-plus years' history, HKSKH Ming Hua Theological College will now be offering Education Bureau registered, accredited University degree programmes, delivered by its own Faculty in its own historic buildings in Central.
There are so many things to say about this wonderful news, and the next issue of @Ming Hua will be devoted to this registration, accreditation, and partnership. But for now, I want to say the deepest possible thank you to everyone – students, staff, Faculty, Council, and friends and partners at CSU – for their tireless work and endless patience over the past two years. Now we can look forward to Monday September 18, 2017: the first day of our new semester and our new life.
We enjoyed a marvelous visit this month by The Reverend Dr Robert Heaney, Director of the Center for Anglican Communion Studies at Virginia Theological Seminary. Although his guest lecture was rained off by Typhoon Merbok - itself a novel experience for him if not sadly for his audience - Dr Heaney made a great impression on the College community, hosting the Archbishop and Faculty for a dinner reception and joining the final College Eucharist of our summer semester, presided at by Archbishop Paul.
Ming Hua’s partnership with VTS promises many good things for the future, and the Center will be integral to all of those plans. We wish Robert well for his sabbatical time in New Zealand, and we look forward to reading the new book that will come from it!
